Problem:  A unknown startup had the crazy idea to use plastic “aligners” to replace traditional “wires and brackets”, also know as braces.  But the founder needed a plastic which was higher performance than anything available in the dental world and meet or exceed an extensive list of properties for human safety, material performance, and manufacturing requirements.

Solution:  Building on broad knowledge of polymeric materials we developed the first thermoformable rigid polyurethane sheet material which met all criteria and helped that tiny startup become Align Technology, maker of Invisalign © “Invisible Braces”.
